This is not the Onion. This is something more ridiculous. This is real life. Parents are hysterical over a new teenage practice, hugging.

One Montvale mother told theTimes, “I hug people I’m close to. But now you’re hugging people you don’t even know. Hugging used to mean something.”

Hugging among U.S. teenagers has become so prevalent some schools say they’ve banned the embrace or imposed limits on how long they last.

I’m sorry, outraged parents and suspicious school administrators, but in this world of seemingly increasing war, greed, torture and general inhumanity towards one another, it’s extremely refreshing that hugging is something teens are adopting as the new “hello.”
